From The Principal's Desk:
December 7, 2011
Dear Parents and Guardians,
December is here. Please remember to have your child come to school with the proper clothing once the temperature drops and the snow arrives. In order for them to play in the snow, they need snow pants, boots, mittens, a hat and coat.
Enclosed in this communication you will find:
CATCH – a mentoring program between adults over 50 and children. We will begin this program at Kaler at the end of February. Keep an eye out for further information. If you know of an adult over 50 who would be interested, please have them contact me. The commitment is for one hour per week, one day after school a week for eight weeks.
Sea Dogs Reading Challenge – your child can earn a free Sea Dogs ticket by reading 5 books beyond the usual reading for school.
We are in need of substitute lunch/recess aides. The hours are from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Please contact me if you are interested.
Dates to keep in mind:
Wednesday, December 7 – Early Release at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, December 22 – Last day of school prior to December break.
Tuesday, January 3 – Students return to school after December break.
Sincerely,
Diane Lang
Proud to be Principal of Kaler Elementary
